Looks 4 Books is an AI-powered book recommendation engine designed to help you discover your next favorite read. By understanding your unique taste profile, from favorite books and authors to movies and moods,we deliver personalized recommendations that truly resonate with you.

How It Works

Our recommendation algorithm combines three powerful approaches:

• AI Semantic Understanding (60%): We use OpenAI embeddings to understand the deeper themes, writing styles, and narrative elements that make books similar beyond just genre labels.
• Genre & Subject Matching (30%): We analyze book subjects, themes, and keywords to find titles that align with your interests.
• Quality Signals (10%): We factor in ratings, popularity, and edition counts to ensure we're recommending books that readers love.

Our Database

Looks 4 Books draws from a curated database of 4,100+ books sourced from Open Library, spanning fiction and non-fiction across all major genres. Every book in our database has been embedded using OpenAI's text-embedding-3-small model, allowing us to understand semantic similarities that go beyond simple keyword matching.

We also integrate with The Movie Database (TMDB) to help you find books based on your favorite movies and TV shows—because great stories transcend medium.

Privacy & Your Data

Your privacy matters. Looks 4 Books does not store your personal information or reading preferences beyond your current session. We use analytics to improve the product, but we never sell your data or track you across the web.
